Sue and Nigel.
Thank you for a wonderful vacation in your lovely, friendly, kind and generous adopted country. Been a long time since we ever met such friendly people---especially you and the Bulic Family.
We miss our time there very much and must make arrangements to return and absolutely to stay at the Bulic Family farmhouse. Great accommodations---big and roomy enough to invite our Friend, his wife and child, from Slovenia and enjoy every minute of it. We found great places to eat , very helpful shop owners, absolutely wonderful fish (eating out and cooking at "home"), little villages out of fairy tale books, fantastic wines and beers, great beach combing, lovely and always helpful people...
Advice: Make the car small, never rush, wave at everone who looks local, speak in friendly tones, and absorb the liesurely pace. Avoid weekend driving---too many weekenders. And. Oh! Eat with Mladen at his restaurant. Ask Nigel.
We left with great reluctance and must return for a longer stay.
PS: English, Deutsch, Francais, Italiano, and the intriguing local dialect spoken here. And all words say "Welcome. Enjoy yourself. We love life." To that we add: "See y'all in Istria." |

Just had a weeks stay in apartment Elsa in the lovely village of Barban, it's in such a great position on the edge of the village such stunning views! Elsa & her family were so friendly and welcoming, although we couldn't speak each others language we managed quite well with sign language. Nigel & Sue are great, and picked us up from and to the airport for a very reasonable price. We decided not to hire a car so Nigel lent us two bicycles which was great for seeing the countryside and we also walked a lot too. We would highly recommend this lovely apartment and we look forward to seeing Nigel & Sue in the future. |

Nigel & Sue were great! SO welcoming and helpful. Everything done to make our holiday easier, stress-free and very good value. We had been to Istria before, but had (how could we?) forgotten how lovely it is!
We stayed in apartment Niko for a very memorable 2 weeks in August. Our 2 boys (5&3) loved all the attention from our hosts - wonderful Niko, Milka & Giana- and all the farm-yard activities including tractor rides etc. The little pool was perfect for them and also good for us to cool off in. The cottage is comfortable and well-equipped and the pretty setting very relaxing. Quick & easy to get to nearby beaches and restaurants by car. Our hosts were so welcoming and generous, they felt more like grandparents by the time we left! We will definitely go back!
Thanks! Tanya, Avie & boys |

We had a wonderful stay at the Bulic farm in June 2009. We felt like old friends within 5 minutes of our arrival meeting Sue & Nigel. The Bulic farm is so much fun. The apartment is very well appointed, and kept extremely clean. The Bulic family went out of their way to make us feel welcome and comfortable. Young Marko is especially helpful and loved to show us around the farm, even making sure we had a lesson in cow milking! The Istria area is a fantastic place to visit. Affordable, and the Bulic farm is an ideal base to make daytrips from. Sue & Nigel arranged a day on their friends sailboat out of Pula and it was the highlight of our stay. Don't hesitate to arrange a stay with Sue & Nigel. They are the nicest people, and are very professional. And if you stay at the Bulic farm, make sure you ask Nevenko to play his accordian! |

Here we are again entering a nothing but positive report on our holiday. We chose this time to stay at Kod Tereza and can honestly say we found the house to be perfect for our needs in every way.
This year Nigel and Sue were our hosts in every way and arranged for us to have a day on the sea in a friends boat. We had a ball and even had a snorkelling lesson which means we have caught the bug and will hopefully try it again next year! Our son walked the dogs whenever possible even at 7am in the morning with Nigel. They made us feel exceptionally welcome and we hope to return at some point in the future.
We can't highly recommend enough that if you want to see Istria then use this company and you wont be disappointed.

This was the best holiday we`ve ever had.I managed to arrange flights, move my holidays around at work to get 2 weeks in Istria across Easter.Nigel and Sue have put together a fantastic website that explains everything.I came across this website last year whilst looking for holidays in Scotland.Although a little bit more expensive(flights/hire car)it was worth every penny. To enjoy Istria to the full a hire car is a must.Thankyou to Manuel, and a big thankyou to Nigel,Sue and Jana for a list of places to visit. Those we visited were the caves at Festini and Postonja,Brijuni national park,Kamenjak and many other enjoyable places.April is not really a holiday month here but it suited us as alot of the places were empty and having a glorious 2 weeks of sunshine we often had the whole beach to ourselves.A really good buy before we came was 4 snorkelling sets, and although it was a bit on the cold side, what a fantastic experience to float with shoals of fish in the crystal clear waters, especially at Kamenjak. If you have kids or not a visit to the Green Garden Kart track is a must.We went twice and each time had the place to ourselves. This was the first time I`d driven abroad but after an hour or so on the very quiet roads down to the beach everything was fine.We stayed at the apartment Dorina.A big thankyou to Dorina and her family for making us so welcome. The place was clean and tidy and very well furnished.A plate of cakes was waiting on the table for us when we arrived and a very large bottle of wine(which they make themselves)sat in the fridge.Every so often Dorina would bring more cakes and sweets for the children.Krnica is a lovely small village but well equipped with a post office, shop and a couple of bar/restaurants.We are now saving up for our next visit.
To Nigel,Sue and Jana-HVALA. |

We have just returned from an extremely enjoyable holiday in Istra, staying at Kod Tereza in Glavani.
The house has every facility to make a comfortable stay and more. The house is very spacious and recently restored / renovated to a very high standard (ask Nigel to show you the photographs of the restoration!) and furnished well. There are 2 wood burning stoves for cosy evenings as well as central heating if the temperature drops. Comfy beds, good shower, well fitted kitchen with all mod cons and nice quality equipment.
Nigel & Sue are very easy going, sociable people who seem to have blended into Istrian life very well. They are always on hand to help out with local hints and tips, but equally will leave you in peace if you so wish.
The locals are friendly and accomodating and always have time to say hello.
Glavani is a very cute little village, very rural with all the sounds that come with living amongst farms. The cockerals never seem to know what time of day it is and sheep trot up and down the street several times a day with the shepherd. There are rare cattle in the village and some really lovely walks with interesting wildlife, flora and fauna. We saw many birds of prey and heard lots of owls.
Nigel and Sue gave us open access to the outdoor kitchen with traditional Istrian grill and pizza oven. The outdoor kitchen was a real treat when we turned it into a private little restaurant one night and grilled the fish that we bought from the fishmonger who delivers early everyday (£4 for 5 local mackeral). We wish we had known where to buy more local produce as we would have definately done this, so perhaps this info could be made available on arrival? If nothing else, try the wine from Jana, she works in the office and loves to talk! There are many little shops and supermarkets within easy reach, but do take advantage of the car hire via Manuel, he met us at the airport and it was a smooth handover.
Pula market is lovely, especially the flee market on Saturdays for some unusal souvenirs.
All in all a very memorable holiday with people who treated us like friends from the moment that we arrived.
We definately reccomend Kod Tereza in Glavani! Thankyou Nigel, Sue and Jana...we had a lovely holiday! |

hello Nigel and Sue.
I'm writing to say thank you so much for the most memorabl holiday of our life. We stayed in apartment Dorina and she was so helpful. I hope to come back when I am older and I will most certainly book with you guys!!! Where we were staying, there was a beach nearby, whick helped alot as the weather was so hot. You are unlike any other travel agent we've ever had - in a good way! I hope to see more of you in the future. |
